The farms would be based on the successful formula Mr. Weeks developed in East Palo Alto, California. Weeks created in the Winnetka area of the valley eventually developed into a small farming community named Weeks Poultry Colony. Despite a common misconception, the township of Winnetka was never a part of neighboring Canoga Park. Weeks founded Winnetka in and it has remained a distinct entity since. Canoga Park did not receive its name until The Weeks Poultry Colony was actively engaged in uplifting the spirit of its members and aided in the social, intellectual and artistic enlightenment of the region.
The Weeks Community participated in the laying of the cornerstone of the Owensmouth Community Church, built DeSoto Avenue marks the western boundary and Corbin Avenue the eastern. I love living in Winnetka I grew up in my dads house and now I have my own home down the street from my dad in Winnetka! I love it here! They always keep it so clean and safe free!
There is a park closeby and boba store. It's close to everything and very walkable. The people are diverse and accepting of all lifestyles. The students are from many different backgrounds, both culturally and socioeconomically. There is a small, but very active parent community. We have an orchestra program for 3 - 5th graders, Garden Ranger program through Enrich LA raised bed gardens in the main schoolyard and outside each classroom , a computer lab, and music and art programs throughout the year.

This is our second year. My child attends the SDC program and the teacher and staff are wonderful. I observed the class before I agreed to the placement and it was obviously the teacher loves what she does and is professional with her teaching. Hart Street Elementary School. My daughter was enrolled in Hart Elementary School from grades 3rd-5th.
We got nothing, but really good teachers. Additionally, the school leadership "principal and staff" do a fantastic job in creating a safe learning environment for the students, and has always made me feel welcomed. Parent Review 3y ago. Limerick Avenue Elementary School. I have not have any problem with this school. It had a rating of 3; this year has a 4! I think the principal and staff knows what needs to be done to make this a great school. Teachers are awesome.
My daughter is on 2nd grade now and there is definitely communication between parents and school with flyers and review periods gives you opportunity to find out how your kid is doing.
Have no complaints of this school so far. Parent Review 6y ago. Melvin Avenue Elementary School. I am immensely disappoint in Melvin Elementary, the bullying is extreme. My child often gets bullied for being white. There is no diversity. Test scores are low and many children are unsupervised at home, which leads to greater issues in the school. The level of exposure these children have to many negative things is sad. Unfortunately, I wish my son had not been enrolled here.

This has been one of the worst experiences of my life dealing with this school.
My child in 5th grade went for months saying she wasn't being assigned homework. Which I thought was strange so decided to investigate further. Turns out she was given homework just wasn't turning it in.
